Who we are

Hello, flower friends - Denise here! Thank you for your interest in Fluffy Flowers Farm - Dave and I are so excited to share our farm and flowers with our community through various offerings, and we look forward to seeing you all this upcoming season!

Our journey to flower farming isn’t a typical one! We met and married in Arabic school while serving in the Army and had busy and successful careers in the government living in DC. Our lives were super fast paced and focused on constant movement and convenience. Slowing down was never part of the plan.

But that all changed when the injuries from a vehicle accident I was in during a Middle East deployment starting catching up to me, and I needed multiple spine surgeries that required long and demanding recoveries. In those quiet spaces between procedures, PT, appointments, and the uncertainty of healing, I was forced - for the first time in my life - to slow down.

And the most interesting thing happened. I started to notice things. Hummingbirds. Bumblebees. Tiny flowers budding. How the landscape changed with the seasons. As recovery continued, so did the pull toward a slower, more intentional life. The flower farm was born not out of a hobby or tradition, but out of necessity - a need to heal and rebuild a life centered around balance and beauty.

Today our farm is a reflection of that journey, and each hand tended bloom represents patience, resilience, and the quiet strength found in nature. We grow flowers not just to share their beauty but to offer a small invitation to slow down, to notice, to reconnect - just as we once had to learn to do ourselves. These flowers are a reminder that life’s unexpected turns can lead to something meaningful, beautiful, and full of life. XOXO
